Some catching up!

So! It’s been like half a year ago since I last posted anything. I’ve been way too busy with all kind of other things like having twins etc…

In this blog I’m going to fast forward a bit to catch up to where I’m at the moment with my images and also showcase some of my work what I find in the streets 😉

First I’m excited to have my Baobab Alley photo chosen to be featured in the Oxfam Novib 2019 merchandise (cards, calendars, agenda etc)

Further, I’m always seeing my images everywhere in the streets, sometimes even as weird as a grilled ham and cheese sandwich on the beach in Spain or a brochure for help after suicide…

Last week I saw the same image at Schiphol airport (where a lot of my work can be spotted), used by a mayor cheese company

And a while ago I also saw this one, used by a hotel at Schiphol as backwall

Fun stuff, but now let’s move on and show some work I’ve been doing the last months. Let’s start where I ended (Autumn is coming early this year!) and add one more autumn view I really like. A wide angle (14mm) macro image of some fungi on a tree on the ground. Weird looks from some hikers in the woods, but I think it was worth some wet and dirty clothes.

Next some shots from Leiden, my birthplace, so I better share a few beautiful images of the city. No story’s, just images (probably the way you like it ;))

We have also visited Eindhoven at GLOW (totally random, I know haha);

And of course some more Amsterdam shots, this time with a spooky atmosphere in the fog and also a couple with one of the most amazing sunsets at the Damrak and Red light district;

And last… even more Amsterdam (of course…)! These images are shot during the Light Festival with all kind of art projects in the canals, but I mostly prefer the canals without art 🙂

Twins! And 5.000 uploads and 70.000 sales at shutterstock!

It has been quiet for a long time, but with good reason. Since the birth of our twins in August I’ve been as busy as always, only now more in the diaper-changing category and not so much with photography…

So before we go back to business first a family portrait! With fltr; Mirte, Mary Kee, Vera Ann and me!

But! There’s is photography news too!

When the family was asleep I’ve managed to increase my shutterstock portfolio up to 5,000 images! I believe I was already at 4985 3 months ago, but nevertheless the 5K has been reached! The lucky photo is one of the massive Montagne de Bueren staircase in Liege. It may not be the most amazing image that I have in my portfolio, but I can’t help it’s always raining in Belgium…

The same week I also sold my 70,000th image on shutterstock! The jubileum sale is one of my new bestsellers. I sort of stole the idea from myself and recreated my own all time best selling shutterstock image. Same idea, but another time and place.

So that’s it again for now! Thanks for reading and see you soon!

IAMSTERDAM Rainbow hyperlapse

Last week I noticed that the IAMSTERDAM sign had changed colors for the coming gaypride, so I had to take advantage of that! Made some pictures, but also a Timelapse and a Hyperlapse. The hyperlapses are especially fun for those watching the person who is making the hyperlapse, snailing inch by inch around its subject :p

So this hyperlapse consists out of 400 images taken with a 5 second interval over a distance of around 30 meters. Despite working with a tripod I still managed to get sore arms and shoulders from moving the camera every 5 seconds haha. In post stabilised by hand and afterwards with warp stabilizer. Enjoy!

And here is the ‘normal’ timelapse
